Description
Apulia is a region surrounded by two different seas and offers an interesting variety of coastline, from the white cliffs of Gargano, to the rough coast of Salento, and the sandy beaches of Gallipoli and Tarantino. The area is also rich in history and culture, drawing in the past from the glories of the grecian empire. Villa Pisanelli lies in the Salento area, 50 kms from Lecce, a beautiful baroque city, 40 kms from Gallipoli and 25 from Santa Maria di Leuca at the extreme point of the region. This old farm, now transformed into a villa, has preserved all of its original external architectural features, and the garden enclosed by stone walls, is divided geometrically by paths that delimit the grass areas into two rectangles, and in one of these they have built a beautiful 4x23 m swimming-pool, spanned in the middle by a little bridge. On the outside, beyond the walls, is beautiful countryside with centuries-old olive trees. The interior has been elegantly and comfortably transformed with excellent taste, and is equipped with telephone and fax on separate lines, dishwasher in the kitchen, laundry with washing-machine, stereo with CD and microwave oven. The annexes lie alongside the villa, and have the same high-quality furnishings as the main building and all have air-conditioning apart from no. 5. The village of Miggiano is about 2 kms away and offers all the services you might need, food shops, banks and post office. The sea is easily reached 16 kms away with the beaches at Torre Vada or Marina di Ugento, 8 kms away are the beautiful cliffs at Castro. The most convenient airports are at Brindisi (90 kms) or at Bari (215 kms), and have several daily links with Rome and Milan.
